LETTER OF CONDOLENCE AND SOLIDARITY

Our Comrades and Fellow Students,
We, All Burma Federation of Student Unions - ABFSU, alongside the students and people of Burma, extend our deepest condolences and heartfelt solidarity to the people of Nepal who are suffering from the devastating floods and landslides.
We mourn with the families who have lost their loved ones, and we stand with those who have lost their homes, livelihoods, and communities. We also share our deepest concern for those who remain missing and for all the communities struggling to survive in the aftermath of this disaster.
We appreciate the efforts of students, young people, volunteers, rescue workers, and local communities who have come together to help those affected. Such collective actions demonstrate the power of solidarity: when people stand together, they can protect and support one another even in the face of enormous adversity. Those who have contributed the least to environmental harm are often the ones who suffer its harshest impacts, and they are also the same people who come together, hand in hand, in times of struggle.
From Burma, we stand in solidarity with the people of Nepal during this difficult time. Although we are separated by borders, our shared humanity connects us. We believe that students and young people have an important role to play in building a society where people are protected, supported, and never left alone in times of crisis.
We mourn with you, we stand with the affected communities, and we stand with students who are working toward a more just, democratic, and resilient society.
We sincerely hope that the students of Nepal will be able to face and overcome these difficult and devastating times together with the people, build a truly people-centered democracy, and continue advancing along the path toward people’s liberation.
